During the time of being a Princely State, there was a Judicial Department which had been renamed as ‘Law Department’ after such merger. Now the Department is known as ‘Law & Parliamentary Affairs Department’ of Government of Tripura. With an ever increasing function, this Department is suited to act as a window in between the Government and the people, to make the State practically a Welfare State, from the legal point of view. The Law & Parliamentary Affairs Department, being one of the prominent Departments of Government of Tripura, is vested with the responsibility of administration of legal affairs, justice and legislative affairs.
